Mustang Oil Field Development
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Brooks Range Petroleum Corporation’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ1328MSS03 for the Mustang Oil Field Development.
ADEC initially posted a public notice regarding AQ1328MSS03 on December 26th, 2018. Brooks Range Petroleum Corporation submitted an amended application on January 24, 2019 and the preliminary permit for the Mustang Oil Field Development project was further revised. Therefore, ADEC is posting a new public notice regarding this preliminary Minor Permit.

Location: Latitude: 70°14' 55.96" North; Longitude: 150° 17' 3.53" W
Activity: Brooks Range Petroleum Corporation’s application is classified under 18 AAC 50.508(5) to establish an owner requested limit to avoid one or more permit classifications and under 18 AAC 50.508(6) to revise the terms and conditions of an existing Title I permit (Minor Permit AQ1328MSS02).
Emissions: The permit results in an increase of potential to emit of 33.6 tpy CO; and 7.1 tpy PM-2.5 and PM-10.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents, as long as they are received within 30 days after the first publication date. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
