In October 2017 the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) revised regulations regarding waste treatment facilities to require that medical waste treatment facilities, not located within a hospital or other regulated medical facility, operate under a solid waste treatment permit issued by ADEC.
ADEC has determined that the permit application for B & P Waste Services Inc. for operation of a medical waste treatment facility is complete and proposes to issue the permit for the facility.
