Request for Public Comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives, Delta Junction Trespass Shooting Range Brownfield Revitalization, Delta Junction, Alaska

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is accepting public comments on the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives for the Delta Junction Trespass Shooting Range. The Delta Junction Trespass Shooting Range is located on the west side of the Richardson Highway, east of the Delta River, and north of the airstrip in Delta Junction, Alaska.

The Trespass Shooting Range is contaminated with lead and other heavy metals related to the discharge of firearms. DEC is evaluating cleanup options for the site that would allow for safe reuse as part of a public trail system by the Delta Junction Trails Association.

Cleanup Alternatives will be accepted from February 1, 2019 through March 2, 2019 at 5:00 PM.

Comments may also be faxed to DEC at (907) 465-5218 or emailed to christy.howard@alaska.gov.

It is the responsibility of the commenter to verify facsimile and email submissions are received by the deadline. A public meeting to discuss the Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives will be held at the Delta Junction City Hall Meeting Room on February 21, from 6-8 PM.
