North Pole Street Lighting Standardization and Improvements

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing lighting improvements to the Ford, Morning Star, and Highway Park subdivisions, as well as to the City Core. The DOT&PF anticipates construction of the proposed project in 2020.

The DOT&PF is presenting our preliminary engineering design and environmental considerations to the community in an open house format. There will not be a formal presentation. It is important to the DOT&PF and FHWA that the residents of Fairbanks North Star Borough have an opportunity to provide comments, recommendations, or concerns about the proposed project, so we hope you can attend.
The following Executive Orders (EO) apply:
EO 11990 Notice of Wetland Involvement,
EO 12898 Environmental Justice, EO 11593 Protection and Enhancement of Cultural Resources,
EO 11988 Floodplain Management,
and EO 13112 Invasive Species, as amended by EO 13751.
The environmental review, consultation, and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried out by DOT&PF pursuant to 23 U.S.C 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated November 3, 2017 and executed by FHWA and DOT&PF.
