NOTICE OF A MEETING OF THE

ALASKA BOARD OF FISHERIES

 

The Alaska Board of Fisheries (board) will hold a meeting beginning at 1:00 p.m., July 17, 2018. The meeting will be held at the Egan Civic and Convention Center, 555 West 5th, Anchorage, Alaska.  

 

The purpose of the special meeting is to address five emergency petitions: the Kenai River Sportfishing Association received May 16, 2018 regarding additional hatchery production in the Prince William Sound; the Bristol Bay Native Association June 22, 2018 resolution 2018-13 and the Chignik Fish and Game Advisory Committee’s July 2, 2018 petition, both regarding sockeye salmon regulations for the Chignik, Kodiak, and the Alaska Peninsula management areas; the Native Villages of Grayling, Anvik, Shageluk, and Holy Cross’s July 3, 2018 petition regarding drift gillnet chum salmon fishing on the Yukon River, and the Yakutat Tlingit Tribe July 10, 2018 petition regarding sport fishing on the Situk River signed by its executive director and Yakutat Fish and Game AC Chairman. At the meeting the board will consider whether emergencies exist under 5 AAC 96.625 and may consider whether to adopt emergency regulations.

 

This meeting is open to the public. Written comments, due by July 9, may be mailed to:  Boards Support Section, P.O. Box 115526, Juneau, AK  99811-5526, emailed to dfg.bof.comments@alaska.gov, or entered on the Board’s main webpage at www.boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov.  The board will continue to accept written comment with a 10-page limit until July 16 through email, dfg.bof.comments@alaska.gov, or on the Board’s main webpage at www.boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov. The board will not take written or oral testimony at the meeting. A live audio stream of the meeting is intended to be available on the Board’s website, which can be accessed at www.boardoffisheries.adfg.alaska.gov.
