Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

FY 2019 Block Grant Plan

The Department of Health and Social Services invites the public to comment on the state plan for the proposed use of the 2018-2019 federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) block grant funds. 

This proposed plan describes the procedures used by the Heating Assistance Program.  The plan includes the proposed allocation of funds for heating and weatherization assistance; a description of the method for determining eligibility and the amount of the heating assistance benefit; and the proposed benefit rate for the 2018-2019 Program.  A copy of the proposed plan can be found attached at the bottom of this notice and at www.heatinghelp.alaska.gov. 

Any interested person may send in comments on the proposed LIHEAP plan to Susan Marshall, Heating Assistance Program Coordinator, State of Alaska, Heating Assistance Program, P.O. Box 110640, Juneau, Alaska 99811-0640; by fax at (907) 465-5154, or by email LIHEAP@alaska.gov.  Written comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2018.
