Proposed Project and Location:
The proposed authorization under general permit AKG380000, Wastewater Discharges from Drinking Water Treatment Plants, authorizes the discharge of nanofiltration concentrate from the BP Central Water Treatment Facility to an unnamed pond located at Prudhoe Bay (70.2946° North latitude, 148.7003° West longitude). Discharge of the nanofiltration concentrate shall occur at an estimated maximum daily discharge rate of 20,496 gallons per day. A mixing zone is proposed for total dissolved solids and is defined as the area measuring 32 meters long by 41 meters wide centered over the end of the pipe. Tentative Determination:
DEC has tentatively determined to issue an authorization to BP Central Water Treatment Facility to discharge under the general permit for the activity described above.

Public Comments:
Written comments on the proposed authorization to discharge under an APDES general permit must be submitted within 30 days of the issuance of this public notice. Please direct written comments to the attention of Marie Klingman at the address or email identified above. All comments should include the name, address, and telephone number of the commenter and a concise statement of comment on the permit condition(s) and the relevant facts upon which the comment is based. Comments of either support or concern which are directed at specific, cited permit requirements are appreciated. Mailed comments must be postmarked on or before the expiration date of the public notice.
