The Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities(DOT& PF), in cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is proposing improvements to the St. Mary’s Airport. The project will be funded through FAA grants. Prior to obtaining the funding, the FAA requires that the runway safety area meet current design standards. To determine appropriate design standards for St. Mary’s Airport,
DOT&PF is seeking your input regarding how the airport plays a role in your community. Your input and commets will help us identify key issues and concerns regarding current airport conditions and future needs. The information you provide will assist DOT&PF in developing a conditions and needs assessment, which will be used to plan for airport improvements. To date, planned improvements include:

                                          1)  Resurfacing runways, taxiways, and apron.
                                          2)  Replacing the airport lighting system.
                                          3)  Upgrading the segmented circle and wind cones
.

DOT&PF, would like to hear from you. Links to surveys regarding the airport and specific uses are provided below. You may fill out more than one survey if you fit into multiple use categories. DOT&PF will use the information you provide as well as comments collected at the public open house to identify airport issues and build the airport conditions and needs assessment. The surveys close on May 18, 2018.
