FIVE-YEAR FOREST MANAGEMENT SCHEDULE

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry 2018-2022 Preliminary Five-Year Forest Management Schedule for the Northern Southeast Area is available for public review. Per AS 38.05.113 this is a scoping document that outlines the proposed forest management activity to be undertaken on State land over the next five years. The Five-Year Schedule is not a decision document.

The public is invited to comment on any aspect of the Five-Year Forest Management Schedule. Comments should be mailed to the Alaska Division of Forestry and must be received by the close of business at the Division of Forestry’s office no later than March 15, 2018 to be considered as comment in the adopted schedule. This document can be viewed at the Area Office and public library in Haines, the State of Alaska’s on-line public notice website https://aws.state.ak.us/OnlinePublicNotices/Notices/View.aspx?id=188794 as well as the DOF’s website http://forestry.alaska.gov/timber/haines#fiveyear.

Prior to completing projects proposed in the schedule the Division of Forestry will follow statutory requirements and regulations providing additional public comment opportunities on the details of a project listed in this document.
