Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Allen Vezey dba Lakloey, Inc.

PROJECT NAME: LAS 32171

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Along two and half miles of the Buckland River, between the City of Buckland and an upstream material site ADL 419712.  

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: 
Within the submerged lands of the Buckland River, in Sections 26 and 35 of Township 7 North, Range 12 West, Kateel River Meridian, and Section 2 of Township 6 North, Range 12 West, Kateel River Meridian.  

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant proposes to travel on the frozen Buckland River surface between the City of Buckland and an upstream material site ADL 419712 to transport equipment and material.  Vehicles include a highway type end dump truck, wheeled front end loader, tracked dozer (D-6), tracked excavator, and a few ATVs.  No fuel or other hazardous materials would be transported other than that within vehicles.  All fueling will be done in town and not on the river.  All vehicles would be equipped with an oil spill kit, and additional absorbent pads and granules would be stored in the City of Buckland.  

PROPOSED DATES OF USE: 
Start: March 1, 2018 
End: May 10, 2018

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: February 23, 2018

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
