The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) is working on a project to reconstruct the Parks Highway from the Tanana River Bridge at Nenana (milepost 305) to the Fairbanks North Star Borough boundary (milepost 325). The project will reduce load restrictions, increase safety for the traveling public, and bring the roadway up to current design standards. Project highlights include:
-Realignment to reduce sharp curves and steep grades throughout the project limits.
-Replacing the Little Goldstream Creek Bridge near milepost 314.
-New passing lanes.
-Upgrading, relocating, and constructing new turnouts.

The first stage of construction is anticipated to begin in 2020.

If you have ideas, concerns, or information you’d like to share about the project area and proposed improvements, please let us know.
