Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Glenn Villeneuve
PROJECT NAME: LAS 32084 – Land Use Permit and ADL 420936 – Trapping Cabin Permit
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Site is located on an unnamed lake (sometimes referred to as Island Lake) approximately 20 miles northeast of Chandalar Lake and approximately 10 miles east of Reds Lake. Located between the North Fork of the Chandalar River and Your Creek (see attached map).
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Township 35 North, Range 3 West, Section 21, Fairbanks Meridian.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water, Northern Region Office, has received a land use permit (LUP) and trapping cabin permit (TCP) application from Mr. Villeneuve. The LUP will be in support of commercial filming activities. The TCP will be in support of trapping related activities. The existing structure at the site will be dismantled and removed. A new cabin of approximately 400sq ft. and one out building for additional storage/workspace of no larger than 192sq ft. will be built in place of the existing cabin. The new structures will be covered under both authorizations. These applications along with payment of back fees owed to the state will resolve a current trespass (ADL 420937) with Mr. Villeneuve at this location.
PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Land Use Permit: 5-yr term, 2018-2023
Trapping Cabin Permit: 10-yr term, 2018-2028.
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: Friday, January 19, 2018 by 5PM
The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity (Please reference which permit application you are commenting on, LAS 32084 or ADL 420936). To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for each activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
