MISSILE DEFENSE COMPLEX
The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA’s) application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ1071MSS03 for the Missile Defense Complex (MDC).
Applicant: Missile Defense Agency, 5222 Martin Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL 35898
Location: MDC, Fort Greely, Alaska
Activity: MDA requested a minor permit under 18 AAC 50.508(6) in order to revise the terms and conditions of an existing Title I permit (Minor Permit AQ1071MSS02, Revision 1).
Emissions: This project will not affect the oxides of nitrogen (NOx), coarse and fine particulate matter (PM-10 and PM-2.5), and sulfur dioxide (SO2) potential emissions.
ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50. Minor Permit AQ1071MSS03 rescinds and replaces Minor Permit AQ1071MSS02 Revision 1.

ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
