Contractor Meeting: Tok Cutoff MP 38-50 Rehabilitation

Tok Cutoff MP 38-50 Rehabilitation
IRIS No.: NFHWY00147, Federal Project No. 0A13021

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF), in cooperation with the Alaska Division of the Federal Highway Administration, is proposing to rehabilitate the Tok Cutoff between mile posts 38 and 50 in Alaska. Improvements will include drainage, embankment stabilization and rebuilding pavement structure. The project also includes railing upgrades and deck repairs to the Indian River Bridge #651.

The purpose of this project is to improve safety and mobility for all users, and to reduce maintenance requirements along the project corridor. It is needed because the road experiences excessive frost heaving and settlement due to subgrade failure and drainage problems.

The Department plans to use the Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) project delivery method to assist in the development of the design incorporating innovative materials and methods, and to construct the project in a manner that minimizes impacts, reduces risks, and provides cost savings through efficient scheduling and utilization of construction materials.

ADOT&PF invites contractors to a meeting on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm to learn more about the contractor selection process, CMGC and the Tok Cutoff MP 38-50 Rehabilitation project. Meeting details and procurement documents are available online at the following websites.
