Notice of Adopted Changes in the Regulations of the Department of Environmental Conservation for Solid Waste Requirements

NOTICE OF ADOPTED CHANGES IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION

Regulations dealing with solid waste requirements were adopted by the Department of Environmental Conservation on September 21, 2017, with an effective date of October 27, 2017. The regulations have been made permanent and have been filed by the Lt. Governor. The regulations will appear in Register 224, January 2018, of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations changes are summarized as follows:

The solid waste regulations have been amended to address storage, treatment, and disposal requirements for oil and gas exploration and production waste, and amend beneficial use requirements. The amendments also address treatment requirements for small waste treatment facilities for medical waste and biosolids, as well as updating user fees.

The following section was amended:

18 AAC 60.700, 18 AAC 60.990

The following new sections were adopted:

18 AAC 60.009, 18 AAC 60.432
