NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE

REGULATIONS OF THE REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA

 

The Regulatory Commission of Alaska (Commission) proposes, in Docket R-17-002, to amend Title 3 of the Alaska Administrative Code to conform state Lifeline program eligibility and certification regulations to recent reforms to the federal Lifeline program, specifically:

 

  1. Align the income based programs listed in 3 AAC 53.390(b)(2) with those presented in 47 CFR 54.409;
  2. Repeal the Commission’s discretion to designate additional income based programs provided in 3 AAC 53.390(b)(3); and
  3. Revise the state Lifeline customer certification and verification procedures contained in 3 AAC 53.390(e)-(g) to reflect revised federal procedures in 47 CFR 54.410.

The language of the final regulations may be different from that of the proposed regulations. YOU SHOULD COMMENT DURING THE TIME ALLOWED IF YOUR INTERESTS COULD BE AFFECTED.
