Permit Coverage: Small publicly owned treatment works and other small privately-owned treatment works providing secondary treatment of domestic wastewater discharging up to 1 million gallons per day to fresh or marine surface water.
Description of Discharge:
- Nature of Discharge: secondary treated domestic wastewater
- Pollutants: ammonia, 5-day biochemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, escherichia coli bacteria, enterococci bacteria, fecal coliform bacteria, pH, total residual chlorine, andtotal suspended solids
- Volume of Discharge: up to 1 million gallons per day
- Location of Discharge: fresh or marine surface water in the State of Alaska
Mixing Zone: Applicants may request modified effluent limits and facility specific mixing zones for dissolved oxygen, escherichia coli bacteria, enterococci bacteria, fecal coliform bacteria, pH, or total residual chlorine. DEC will authorize a mixing zone if it is consistent with the Clean Water Act and the mixing zone criteria at 18 AAC 70.240 through 18 AAC 70.270.

DEC has determined to reissue the above listed general permit.
