NOTICE OF UTILITY APPLICATIONS
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on May 4, 2017, Legacy Long Distance International, Inc. d/b/a Legacy Inmate Communications (Legacy), filed an application to provide local private pay telephone (PPT) service. Legacy intends to offer local calling service to inmates in the Alaska Department of Corrections facilities in Alaska. Docket No. U-17-026 was opened to address this matter.
In conjunction with its PPT application, Legacy filed a petition for confidential treatment for the list of complaints lodged against Legacy in any jurisdiction in the prior two years. Interested parties may file a response to the petition for confidential treatment with the Commission by the close of the comment period indicated below.
The Commission further gives notice that on May 4, 2017, Legacy filed an application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to provide intrastate interexchange (IXC) telephone service. Legacy intends to offer resold IXC service to inmates in the Alaska Department of Corrections facilities in Alaska. Docket No. U-17-027 was opened to address this matter.
In conjunction with its IXC application, Legacy has filed a petition for confidential treatment of its financial statements included with the application. Interested parties may file a response to the petition for confidential treatment with the Commission by the close of the comment period indicated below.
The Commission has not assessed the completeness of either application. The Commission may determine whether the applications are complete after the close of the comment period.
