ADEC has prepared an APDES preliminary draft permit for City of Cordova Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Preliminary Draft Permit and associated documents are available to the applicant for a 10-day review. Following the close of the 10-day applicant review period, DEC will prepare a draft permit and fact sheet for a formal 30-day public review period. Public comments will be accepted during the formal 30-day review period. Proposed Project and Location:
The City of Cordova operates a wastewater treatment plant that treats domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources to secondary treatment standards. The wastewater treatment plant discharges to Orca Inlet at latitude 60.538° and longitude -145.778°. The wastewater treatment plant has a design flowrate of 0.7 million gallons per day. Mixing zones for fecal coliform bacteria, total ammonia
(as Nitrogen), and total residual chlorine will be authorized.
