Notice of Proposal to Issue Air Quality Control Minor and Operating Permits to Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc., King Cove Facility

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue Air Quality Control Permit Nos. AQ0243TVP04 and AQ0243MSS03 to Peter Pan Seafoods, Inc. King Cove Facility, under Alaska Statutes 46.14 and regulation 18 AAC 50.

Activity:                 Processes fresh seafood into edible products

Application:          December 11, 2015 and January 10, 2017

Emissions:             The potential annual emissions will not exceed: 33 tons PM, 249 tons NOx, 111 tons SO2, 160 tons CO, and 19 tons VOCs.  The total emissions of regulated air pollutants is 572 tons per year.

ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the applications, ADEC drafted preliminary permit decisions for the King Cove Facility.

Available Information: Copies of ADEC’s draft Operating Permit, Statement of Basis, preliminary minor permit, and preliminary Technical Analysis Report are available at ADEC’s Juneau office, 410 Willoughby Ave, Juneau, AK 99801 (907) 465-5124 and 555 Cordova Street, Anchorage, AK (907) 269 7582.  The administrative record for these permits are available for review during business hours, Monday through Friday.

The draft Operating Permit, Statement of Basis, preliminary minor permit, and preliminary Technical Analysis Report are also available at the Department’s website at: http://dec.alaska.gov/Applications/Air/airtoolsweb/AirPermitsApprovalsAndPublicNotices.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Notice is given that any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents by the close of the public comment period.  Written comments will be included in the record if received by close of the comment period.  ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law.  Any person may request a public hearing and that hearing will be held if ADEC finds that good cause exists.  ADEC will issue final decisions to issue or deny the permits after the close of the public comment period.  ADEC complies with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
