NOTICE OF PETITION TO WAIVE CERTAIN REPORTING REQUIREMENT REGULATIONS
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on January 18, 2017, GCI Communication Corp. d/b/a General Communication, Inc. and GCI (GCI) filed a petition requesting waiver of 3 AAC 52.381(c) which requires an interexchange carrier of last resort (IXC COLR) to annually file by March 31, a report providing year-end balances for plant-in-service, net plant, and expenses associated with providing interexchange service in the state. Docket No. U-17-004 was opened to address this matter.
GCI states that the waiver is in the public interest because the cost of preparing the required report far outweighs the value the Commission or the public would receive from the report. The Commission may approve or deny in whole or in part the GCI petition for waiver. Absent waiver, GCI’s report will be due March 31, 2017.
