NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATIONS
LAS 13684 & LAS 19542

Pursuant to AS 46.15 and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, notice is hereby given that applications have been received from City of Unalaska, PO Box 610, Unalaska, Alaska 99685, to appropriate water as follows:

LAS 13684 – the right to withdraw 3,731.34 acre-feet of water per year (subject to a maximum monthly withdrawal of 564.04 acre-feet of water), January 1st through December 31st, from Icy Creek Reservoir, and to impound approximately 30.69 acre-feet of water behind the reservoir dam year-round, all located within the Northwest one-quarter (NW1/4) Section 27, Township 73 South, Range 118 West, Seward Meridian.  Priority date is April 14, 1992.               

LAS 19542 – the right to withdraw 30.69 acre-feet of water per day, January 1st through December 31st, from Icy Lake, and to impound approximately 92.07 acre-feet of water behind Icy Lake Dam year-round, all located within Southwest one-quarter (SW1/4) Section 34, Township 73 South, Range 118 West, and Northeast one-quarter of the Northwest one-quarter (NE1/4NW1/4) Section 3, Township 74 South, Range 118 West, Seward Meridian.  Priority date is March 24, 1995.

Water use is for a public water system for the City of Unalaska. Water rights, if issued, would be appurtenant to the City of Unalaska’s water distribution system located within Sections 2, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, Township 73 South, Range 118 West, Seward Meridian and Sections 25, 26, 34, and 35, Township 72 South, Range 117 West, Seward Meridian, Aleutians Islands Recording District, Third Judicial District, State of Alaska.

The public is invited to comment on these applications. For further information on the subject, please contact Andrew Harrington at the above address or telephone number. The Water Resources Section must receive comments in writing by 5:00 p.m., January 27, 2017 at the above address to be considered. If issued, a permit may be extended for good cause shown, pursuant to AS 46.15.110 and 11 AAC 93.120(f), without additional public notice.
