NOTICE OF WATER RIGHT APPLICATION

 LAS 28661

Pursuant to AS 46.15 and rules and regulations promulgated thereunder, notice is hereby given that an application was received on July 30, 2012 (priority date), from The Arctic Village Traditional Council, PO Box 22059, Arctic Village, AK 99722 to appropriate water as follows:

To withdraw up to 5,550 gallons of water per day (up to 2,027,000 gallons per year) from January 1st through December 31st from the East Fork of the Chandalar River, U.S. Survey 5220, located within SE¼NW¼ Section 19, Township 15 South, Range 29 East, Umiat Meridian. Water use is for a Class Community Source for a Self-haul system, a School, a Clinic, a Washeteria and Water Treatment Plant. This water right is appurtenant to the water distribution system for the community of Arctic Village located within Township 15 South, Range 28 East Sections 24 and 25; Township 15 South, Range 29 East, Sections 19, 29 and 30 Umiat Meridian, located in the Barrow Recording District, Second Judicial District, State of Alaska, subject to reservations and exceptions of record. Priority date is July 30, 2012.

The public is invited to comment on these actions. For further information on the subject, please contact Christine Ballard at the above address or telephone number. The Water Resources Section must receive comments in writing by 5:00 p.m., October 20, 2016 at the above address to be considered. If issued, a permit may be extended for good cause shown, pursuant to AS 46.15.110 and 11 AAC 93.120(f), without additional public notice.
