Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Golden Valley Electric Association, Inc. (GVEA) filed tariff revision TA290-13 seeking to revise language in its tariff to provide for the potential of additional compensation for, or charge to, a qualifying facility (QF) receiving service under GVEA’s Schedule No. QF-2.
Specifically, GVEA proposes to revise provisions addressing the method of calculating avoided cost as set out at Tariff Sheet No. 120.5 (tariff provisions approved in TA284-13). The proposed revision includes a new section to Schedule No. QF-2: Avoided Cost, stating that GVEA “will, to the extent practicable, take into account the identifiable costs, or savings, resulting from variations in line loss from the amount of line loss that would have existed in the absence of purchases from a [QF], if GVEA had generated or purchased an equivalent amount of energy.”
