Ocean Raft Alaska LLC

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Ocean Raft Alaska LLC

PROJECT NAME: LAS 30838

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: West shore of Taiya Inlet, approximately 7 miles Southwest of Skagway.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NW ¼ SW ¼ Sec. 7, T. 29 S., R. 60 E., CRM 

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Ocean Raft Alaska LLC has submitted an application to the Division of Mining Land and Water (DMLW) for a 5-year Land Use Permit requesting authorization for year-round anchorage of a commercial-use floating dock on state-owned tide and submerged lands in Taiya Inlet. The dock (30’ x 10’) would be anchored with 2 anchors to the submerged lands. The dock would be used in conjunction with a small nature walking trail and tour on the uplands.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: May 1, 2016         End: September 30, 2020 

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: August 31, 2016

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
