Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Barbara A. Lessard dba Lessard and McGuire Revocable Trust

PROJECT NAME: LAS 27416

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Camp Coogan Bay, Sitka

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NW ¼ NE ¼, Sec. 22, T. 56 S., R. 64 E., CRM 

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Barbara A. Lessard, dba Lessard and McGuire Revocable Trust has submitted an application to the Division of Mining Land and Water (DMLW) for a five-year Land Use Permit requesting authorization for year-round placement of a personal-use floathome on submerged and tidelands within Camp Coogan Bay. The float (60’ x 60’) with a structure is tied with 2 shoreties to USFS uplands and 2 concrete anchors on the submerged lands. Ms. Lessard intends to use the floathome seasonally for private residential purposes.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: August 1, 2016         End: July 31, 2021 

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 21, 2016

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
