The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Oil and Gas (Division), received an exploration license plan of operations (Plan) application from Ahtna, Inc. to construct a gravel road, gravel pad and drill an exploration natural gas well approximately one mile north of the Glenn Highway, at Milepost 175. The Division assigned application number is LOAK 15-008. The Division is providing public notice and an opportunity to comment under AS 38.05.035.

This project will include expanding an existing public access easement and trail system in the vicinity of Glenn Highway Milepost 175 to provide access to the proposed pad area where one natural gas exploration well would be drilled. Public access along the 175 Trail will not be restricted during this project. The DNR, Division of Mining, Land and Water is reviewing activities associated with the easement, trail system and pad area and is accepting related comments through 5:00 pm Monday, December 14th, 2015 (see http://notice.alaska.gov/179008). The Plan application outlines all aspects ofthe Tolsona Exploration Project including access, operations and drilling. The access roads and pad would be located on state land and within the Tolsona Oil and Gas Exploration License ADL 392209. The application meets all of the requirementsof 11 AAC 83.951 and 11 AAC 83.158.
