Notice of Proposed Regulation Change to Remove Sitka Sound from the Northern SE herring spawn-on-kelp pound fishery administrative area.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE ADMINISTRATIVE AREA OF THE NORTHERN SOUTHEAST HERRING SPAWN-ON-KELP POUND FISHERY

IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE COMMERCIAL FISHERIES ENTRY COMMISSION

 

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

 

The Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission proposes to the change a regulation on the administrative area of the Northern Southeast herring spawn-on-kelp pound fishery.

 

 

The Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission proposes to adopt regulation changes in 20 AAC 05.230(a)(9) of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with the administrative area of the Northern Southeast herring spawn-on-kelp pound fishery, including the following:

 

(1)        20 AAC 05.230(a)(9) is proposed to be changed as follows: remove Sitka Sound from the Northern Southeast herring spawn-on-kelp pound fishery administrative area.

 

You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Randy Lippert at the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, 8800 Glacier Hwy., Suite 109, P.O. Box 110302, Juneau, Alaska 99811-0302. Additionally, the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission will accept comments by facsimile at (907) 790-7045 and by electronic mail at randy.lippert@alaska.gov .  Comments may also be submitted through the Alaska Online Public Notice System by accessing this notice on the system and using the comment link. The comments must be received not later than 3:00 p.m. on November 13, 2015

 

Oral or written comments also may be submitted at a hearing to be held on November 6, 2015, at the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission conference room, 8800 Glacier Hwy., Suite 109, Juneau, Alaska. The hearing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and might be extended to accommodate those present before 4:30 p.m. who did not have an opportunity to comment. If you wish to participate by telephone at the hearing please contact Randy Lippert at the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, at (907) 790-6945 or by electronic mail at randy.lippert@alaska.gov . You will then be provided with a telephone number and access code which will allow you to participate at the hearing by telephone.

 

You may submit written questions relevant to the proposed action to Randy Lippert at the Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission, 8800 Glacier Hwy., Suite 109, P.O. Box 110302, Juneau, Alaska 99811-0302, and by electronic mail at randy.lippert@alaska.gov . The questions must be received at least 10 days before the end of the public comment period. The Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission will aggregate its response to substantially similar questions and make the questions and responses available on the Alaska Online Public Notice System and http://www.cfec.state.ak.us/mnu_Regulations.htm.

The language of the final regulation may be different from that of the proposed regulation. You should comment during the time allowed if your interests could be affected.
