Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed tariff revision TA409-8, proposing to add a new cost element to its fuel cost adjustment mechanism to include the recovery of costs associated with natural gas purchases under a gas sale and purchase agreement (GSA) between Chugach and Aurora Gas, LLC (Aurora). Chugach submitted revisions to Tariff Sheet Nos. 94, 95 and 95.5 (which state actual and projected costs for Chugach’s Fuel and Purchase Power Cost Adjustment) updating references to reflect the addition of the GSA. Chugach executed the GSA with Aurora on July 23, 2015, for the period of October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2016. Chugach contends that Commission approval of the GSA is not required because the term of the agreement is less than one year. Chugach also requests a request for waiver of 3 AAC 52.502(a), which identifies the criteria required for adjustment clauses.
