Notice of Public Scoping for Possible
Updates and Revisions to DNR Regulations
11 AAC 96.016, Designated Public Use Areas
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is considering revising its regulations regarding the department’s management of state lands outlined in 11 AAC 96.016. Specifically, DNR is seeking to revise portions of regulations pertaining to the management of the Knik River Public Use Area as well as the prohibited uses within the area.

DNR is asking affected members of the public for their input regarding any proposals for revisions to this Chapter of regulations for state lands. Specifically, DNR is interested in ideas that will provide for a more safe, efficient and definitive enforcement ability.
Written comments, suggestions, and other input must be received by the Department no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2015. Please send all submissions by mail or email to:

DNR will consider the submitted information if and when the department proposes regulatory revisions. Any proposed regulatory revisions will subsequently be released for public review and comment under the Administrative Procedures Act AS 44.62.
