Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that ENSTAR Natural Gas Company (ENSTAR) filed tariff revision TA271-4, which contains its annual revision to fees and allowances for installing new service connections, meters, and main line extensions. TA271-4 proposes the following prospective fees and allowances for the 2016 calendar year:
- Service line installation fees for piping less than 2 inches will decrease from $1,111 per service line to $666 per service line;
- Meter installation charges are proposed to be revised as follows:

Additionally, ENSTAR proposes revising Rule No. 601b(1)(b), which addresses installation of service piping two inches or greater. Currently, if the size of the service piping required for service is two inches or greater, the initial Service Line Installation Fee will be based on the Company's estimate of actual construction costs, less a $600 credit. The final fees assessed will be adjusted to the actual cost of construction, less $600. ENSTAR proposes revising this to remove the $600 credit and provide that, under the same circumstances, the initial Service Line Installation Fee will be one half of the Company’s estimated actual construction costs. The final fees assessed will be adjusted to one half of the actual cost of construction.
