The Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Spenard Community Recreation Center in the Multi-Purpose Room as part of the FAR Part 150 Noise Compatibility Study Update. The purpose of the Hearing is to obtain public comments on the Study.  Members of the public will be able to submit comments that will be recorded as part of the public record. Airport staff and the consultant team will also be available to listen to citizen comments and answer questions about the Study.

Copies of the recommendations, forecasts, and official Noise Exposure Maps are available on the website (www.anc150study.com) and at the Airport Administrative Offices at 5000 W. International Airport Road, Anchorage, AK.

The meeting will be a combined formal Public Hearing and open-house workshop format.  The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a workshop, followed with a presentation starting at 6:15 p.m.  After the presentation, public comments will be heard.

Each person will have a maximum of 3 minutes to speak publicly after the presentation. Citizens may sign up to speak when signing into the meeting, and this list will be used to call turns for providing testimony, followed by anyone who did not sign up and would like to speak.  After everyone wishing to speak publicly has completed their one 3-minute turn, the meeting will break to allow citizens to provide private testimony to the hearing officer.  Private testimony will also be conducted in 3-minute turns.  Comments may also be submitted in writing at the meeting, or to the e-mail or postal address listed below or on the website listed below.

The official period during which comments on the draft Study will be accepted is from October 10, 2014 to November 24, 2014.

The Study is being conducted to identify and evaluate current and future noise effects caused by aircraft operations at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. The goal of the Study is to work with surrounding communities and stakeholders to reduce the number of people affected by aircraft noise.
