PUBLIC NOTICE
STATE OF ALASKA – DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
CITY OF RUBY, CLASS III MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE LANDFILL PERMIT 

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) proposes to issue Solid Waste Disposal Permit No. SW3A101-18 to the City of Ruby for operation of a Class III municipal solid waste landfill.

APPLICANT INFORMATION:
Location:  Ruby is located on the south bank of the Yukon River, in the Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mountains. It is about 50 air miles east of Galena and 230 air miles west of Fairbanks. The landfill is located outside of town, approximately 7400 feet southwest of the community. The legal description of the landfill is Section 8, Township 9 South, Range 17 East, Fairbanks Meridian.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 
This public notice is for an existing landfill. The landfill currently serves the 185 residents of Ruby. The landfill receives an estimated 230 tons of solid waste per year.  The 2-acre site includes waste disposal cells, and a salvage area within a fenced area.

OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
