Notice of Availability of Draft Environmental Assessment Preliminary Geotechnical Investigations: Seward Highway MP 105-107, Windy Corner, Project No. 56631

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) developed the proposed preliminary geotechnical investigations in accordance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; Executive Orders: 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 11988 (Floodplain Protection), 12898 (Environmental Justice), 11593 (Historic Preservation), 13084 (Consultation and Coordination with Indian Tribal Governments) the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act. 

DOT&PF announces the availability of the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for preliminary geotechnical investigations for the proposed Seward Highway Milepost (MP) 105 to MP 107, Windy Corner project (project No. 56631).  DOT&PF will conduct proposed material site investigations between MP 104 and MP 109, Seward Highway, and in Turnagain Arm tidal area between MP 106 and MP 107.  DOT&PF plans to begin geotechnical investigations in July 2013.  The Draft EA addresses the proposed preliminary geotechnical investigations and potential economic, social, and environmental effects.   

The Draft EA is available for review at the DOT&PF Central Region office, located at 4111 Aviation Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska.  If you have questions, require additional information, or would like a copy of the EA, please contact Mark Boydston, Environmental Impact Analyst, at (907) 269-0551, or via email at mark.boydston@alaska.gov.
