Koyukuk River Fish & Game Advisory Committee Meeting And Election

The Koyukuk River Advisroy Committee will be holding a public meeting in
Allakaket in the Community Center on Monday February 1, 2010 at approximatly
12:30 pm.

Agenda items will include the following items:
Comment on BOG Region III proposals
Election of Allakaket members
Election of Officers

This AC meeting will also hold an election for 3 Allakaket Seats, 2 Alatna
Seats, 1 Undesignated seat, and 1 Alternate seat. If you are from the area and
would like to serve on this committee, or know someone who would, please come
to the meeting. Names will be collected at the meeting. All persons of legal
voting age are eligible to vote and be elected.

Advisory committees are local groups that meet to discuss fishing and wildlife
issues and to provide recommendations to Alaska Board of Fisheries and Alaska
Board of Game. All meetings are open to the public. Advisory Committees are
intended to provide a local forum on fish and wildlife issues. Their purpose
includes: 1) developing regulatory proposals, 2) evaluating regulatory
proposals and making recommendations to the appropriate board, 3) providing a
local forum for fish and wildlife conservation and use, including matters
relating to habitat, 4) advising the appropriate regional council on resources,
and 5) consulting with individuals, organizations, and agencies.
