Subject to AS 38.05.070, the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, Northern Region Office, has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT:
Afognak Leasing, LLC.

PROJECT NAME:
ADL 421107 Cama’i Pad Lease

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
The proposed lease site is located on the north of Spine Road approximately 1¼ miles southwest of ConocoPhillips DrillSite 2M, inside of the Kuparuk River Unit. 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Within the SE¼ of Sections 32 and the SW¼ of 33 of Range 8 East, Township 11 North and the NW¼ Section 4 of Range 8 East, Township 10 North of the Umiat Meridian, containing approximately 2 acres.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
Afognak Leasing has applied for a 55-year term lease for the phased construction of a 20-acre gravel pad with three 35-foot driveways. The first being a 10-acre pad with each additional 5-acre phase being constructed as needed. The constructed storage pad would store materials and equipment, in support of North Slope oil & gas development, to include; drilling rigs, camps (not occupied), piping, and parked vehicles.  The pad will not be used as a fuel store nor will utilities be provided.

Under the current lease proposal, Afognak Leasing plans to sublease portions of the lease area to third parties for the storage of equipment also in support of North Slope oil & gas development.  Any and all sublease actions will have their own approval process.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: January 1, 2019
End: December 31, 2074

After review and adjudication, we may issue a 55-year competitive lease with stipulations. The lease may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
