Supplemental notice of proposed changes on AVTEC tuition and fees in the regulations of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGES ON TUITION AND FEES
IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE ALASKA VOCATIONAL TECHNICAL EDUCATION
CENTER
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development proposes to
change regulations on tuition rates and fees of the Alaska Vocational Technical
Center (AVTEC).
The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development proposes to adopt regulation
changes in 8 AAC 82.100 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with tuition rates and student
fees Alaska Vocational Technical Education Center (AVTEC), including the following:
Tuition and fees are proposed to be changed as follows: Tuition and fees will be
increase 15 percent across the board. This will affect all courses to include a one term
(19-week) courses and two-term (38-week) courses, and all short courses.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private
persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to AVTEC
Division Operations Manager, Johnny Provost, 809 2nd Avenue, P.O. Box 889, Seward, Alaska
99664. Additionally, AVTEC will accept comments by facsimile at 907-224-4400 and by
electronic mail at admissions@avtec.edu. Comments may also be submitted through the Alaska
Online Public Notice System, by accessing this notice on the system and using the comment link.
The comments must be received not later than 11:59 PM on May 2, 2024.
You may submit written questions relevant to the proposed action to Johnny Provost at
admissions@avtec.edu and 809 2nd Avenue, P.O. Box 889, Seward, Alaska. The questions must
be received at least 10 days before the end of the public comment period. AVTEC will aggregate
its response to substantially similar questions and make the questions and responses available on
the Alaska Online Public Notice System and AVTEC.edu.
If you are a person with a disability who needs a special accommodation in order to participate in

889 Seward, Alaska, not later than April 20, 2024 to ensure that any necessary accommodations
can be provided.

and by contacting Cathy LeCompte, cathy.lecompte@avtec.edu. 907-224-6150.
After the public comment period ends, AVTEC will either adopt the proposed regulation changes
or other provisions dealing with the same subject, without further notice, or decide to take no
action. The language of the final regulation may be different from that of the proposed regulation.
You should comment during the time allowed if your interests could be affected.

This is a supplemental notice to advise the public that the public comment period for these changes has been extended to 5/2/2024.
