Brief Description: The State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors proposes to update the continuing education requirements for professional architects, engineers, land surveyors, and landscape architects. The State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors (Board) proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 36 of the Alaska Administrative Code including the following:
- 12 AAC 36.510. Continuing education requirements, is proposed to simplify and streamline the continuing education requirements for professional architects, engineers, land surveyors, and landscape architects.
- 12 AAC 36.520. Computation of continuing education credit, is proposed to amend and clarify the computation of continuing education credits.
- 12 AAC 36.530. Exemptions, is proposed to add an exemption for those registrants that have been practicing in another recognized jurisdiction for 30 or more years and allow them to only have to complete eight hours of continuing education per biennial licensing period.
- 12 AAC 36.540. Record keeping and review of records, is proposed to simplify and clarify the documentation that has to be submitted if a registrant is randomly selected for the continuing education audit.
- 12 AAC 36.550. Definitions, is proposed to clarify and update existing definitions and add definitions for new terms used in the continuing education regulations.
