EASEMENT APPLICATION
April 20th, 2021
On March 22nd, 2021, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Southeast Regional Land Office (SERO), published a 30-day public notice soliciting comment on an easement application (ADL 109154) from the Juneau Off-Road Association (applicant). The applicant requests an easement to construct a hardened gravel trail and campsite area in Montana Creek Valley, Juneau, Alaska.
The purpose of this notice is to extend the public comment period for ADL 109154 for an additional 30 days. DMLW received public comment extension requests from adjacent landowners affected by the proposed project. Therefore, the new deadline for submitting public comment is 5:00 pm on May 20th, 2021.
Please also note the following application clarification: The applicant proposes to construct a trail approximately 6,800 feet long, and approximately 8 feet wide. The original public notice and application documents indicated an easement width of 25 feet. The 25-foot easement width refers to the width of the requested easement corridor, not the constructed trail itself.
