Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following: 

APPLICANT: BUCK A. JONES

PROJECT NAME: LAS 30009   

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located on the Kenai Peninsula within the Caribou Hills and the area surrounding Caribou Lake, approximately 20 miles northeast of Homer.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

Sections 24, 25, 35, 36 of Township 3 South, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian

Sections 1, 2, 12, 13 of Township 4 South, Range 11 West, Seward Meridian

Sections 19, 20, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33 of Township 3 South, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian

Sections 4, 6, 7, 9, 16 of Township 4 South, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Buck Jones dba East Road Services is requesting an amendment of a land use permit for year-round cross-country travel, adding the summer months of April - October.  Applicant plans to use a D-6 sized dozer or smaller to tow a freight sled for the transportation of construction materials to private parcels in the Fox River Valley.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:   
Start: April 1, 2021          
End: January 3, 2025       

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 29, 2021           

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
