Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT)
PROJECT NAME: Sullivan Creek Bridge
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The Sullivan Creek Crossing on the Tanana Tofty Road.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 18 of Township 3 North, Range 16 West, Fairbanks Meridian
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: DOT has requested an easement and mineral closing order for approximately 0.4 acres of land to construct a bridge allowing for a more reliable crossing of Sullivan Creek on the Tanana Tofty Road. The mineral closing order would close state lands to locatable mineral entry within the proposed right-of-way easement only. Under the easement application, DOT proposes to place culverts, riprap material, and pilings within the roadway beyond the current right-of-way, with the work area extending approximately 750 ft x 28 ft. Closure of lands in the easement under the proposed mineral order will help ensure that the proposed highway improvements remain intact and free from potential damage from mining related activities.
REQUESTED TERM: In perpetuity

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at Northern Regional Land Office, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above.
To be eligible to appeal, a person affected by these actions must provide written comments during the public comment period per AS 38.05.035(i).
