Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Granite Construction Company

PROJECT NAME: LAS 32497

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located approximately two miles south-east of Girdwood, Alaska, near milepost 88 of the Seward Highway and within designated yet undeveloped Material Site ADL 233107.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: NE1/4 NE1/4 Section 32, Township 10 North, Range 2 East, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant is requesting a land use permit for a 9-acre equipment staging and storage area for use associated with the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities' Seward Highway MP 75-90 project. The proposed staging and storage area is located within Material Site ADL 233107, which is being developed as a rock source for the project. Staging and storage includes an area for construction materials, six 55-gallon drums of hydraulic and/or motor oil, twelve 5-gallon pails of gear oil, port-a-cans, one dumpster, two Metso tracked Crushers, one portable Lippman Riprap Plant, one JCI track screen, one fuel truck, five pick-up trucks, three loaders, three dozers (CAT D10, CAT D9, CAT D8), one Atlas Copco ECM 590 hydraulic rock drill, one Atlas Copco D-3 hydraulic rock drill, two excavators (CAT 349, CAT 365), two parts trailers/vans, and/or similar equipment.

Start: August 23, 2018
End: December 31, 2020

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.
