Notice of Proposal to Issue a Solid Waste Permit to the Tatitlek IRA Council for the Disposal of Solid Waste

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has determined that the permit application, submitted by the Tatitlek IRA Council for operation of a Class III Community Municipal Solid Waste Landfill in Tatitlek, Alaska, is complete. ADEC is proposing to issue Solid Waste Permit No. SW3A188-22 to the Tatitlek IRA Council for the disposal of solid waste.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Location: The Tatitlek Landfill is located approximately 900 feet east of the airport, within Section 32, Township 8W, Range 11S, Copper River meridian.

The applicant proposes operating an existing landfill to serve the 74 residents of Tatitlek. The 3-acre site includes a burn barrel for waste reduction, a waste disposal cell for ash and non-burnables, interim appliance storage, and interim metals and vehicle storage.
