Great Bear 2014 – 2015 Winter Exploration Program
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (ADNR), Division of Oil and Gas (Division), has received a Lease Plan of Operations application from Great Bear Petroleum Operating LLC for the 2014 – 2015 North Slope Winter Exploration Program. The Division is providing public notice and an opportunity to comment under 38.05.035(e)(1)(C)(ii).

Project Description:
Great Bear Petroleum Operating LLC (Great Bear) plans to conduct an exploration drilling program within the Dalton Highway Transportation Corridor on the North Slope during the winter 2014 – 2015 season (December 2014 through May 15, 2015). The exploration area is located approximately 18 to 30 miles south of Deadhorse and exploration drilling will take place in three locations.
Each exploration well will be located on a seasonal ice pad accessed via ice road from the Dalton Highway. Each ice pad will have an area of approximately 8.5 acres or less and will be within approximately 3 miles of the Dalton Highway. Additional program details are outlined in the Plan of Operations.

A copy of the final decision will be sent to any person who provides written comments. An eligible person affected by this decision may appeal or request the commissioner’s reconsideration in accordance with (11 AAC 02).
