Location: The project area is 0.08 acres of submerged land near Ward Cove, about 7.2 miles Northwest of Ketchikan Alaska. It is further described as being within the SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 9, T. 075S., R. 090 E., Copper River Meridian; USGS Quad Map Ketchikan B-6 in Ketchikan Alaska. GPS Coordinates are: Lat 55.38629 N Lon 131.73931 W
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) has received an application from Olson Marine to lease approximately .08 acres of submerged land in support of barge activities associated with Olson Marine. No facilities will be built on this location; this lease is to authorize use of a small portion of submerged land that will intermittently be used to accommodate the loading and offloading of a 226 foot barge vessel when it is periodically in port.
DMLW invites the public and agencies to comment on this application and note initial concerns within a thirty-day notice period.

After the thirty-day review period closes and DMLW has considered any comments, DMLW will issue a preliminary decision followed by another thirty-day notice period and subsequently, a final decision.
