Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice
that Alaska Waste - Interior, LLC d/b/a Alaska Waste (AWI), has filed a revenue
requirement study and cost of service and rate design study for its residential
service, designated as TA74-667. With
this filing, AWI is seeking an interim, across-the board rate increase, to the
currently approved rate design, of 96.09% and a permanent rate increase of
158.37%, to be allocated according to the included cost of service and rate
design study.
In
addition to the proposed interim and permanent rate increases, AWI proposes the
following changes to its tariff:

To begin billing residential customers quarterly
in advance.

To discontinue the rental fee for AWI-owned roll
carts.
-
To make customer use of AWI-owned roll carts
mandatory.
-
To introduce a new fee for delivery and
retrieval of roll carts.
-
To introduce a new fee for extra large items that cannot be
collected with automated service during scheduled route times.
-
To introduce a new recurring rate for 96-gallon
bear-resistant roll carts.
-
To introduce new recurring rate for additional roll
carts.
