Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately milepost 12.5 of the Pogo Mine Road.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Land Office (NRO), has received a Land Use Permit (LUP) application SAM Alaska LLC to renew the permit under LAS 363245. The permit was originally issued to GAME Inc, a partner of SAM LLC, for the 3rd party use of the Pogo Mine Road. The original permit expired in May of 2025. The current application proposes to continue to use the road to transport reclamation equipment to the SAM Alaska Project site as needed. The applicant proposes to transport a dozer and excavator on a trailer pulled by a Ford F350. 4 ATV/UTV vehicles would also be transported via the road. The permit would only be for the use of the road-all activities associated with mining reclamation are authorized under a separate Application for Permits to Mine in Alaska (AMPA).

After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
