Subject to AS 38.05.020(b)(2), the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land and Water (DMLW) has received an application for an Interagency Land Management Assignment (ILMA):
APPLICANT: Alaska State Parks, Division of Parks & Outdoor Recreation (DPOR)
PROJECT NAME: ADL 233649
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Homer, Alaska
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 33, Township 4 South, Range 11 West, and Section 24, and Township 5 South, Range 12 West, Seward Meridian, containing approximately 30 acres, more or less.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The applicant has applied for an ILMA to authorize the development and management of two parcels of state-owned, DMLW managed lands adjacent to the Cottonwood Creek and Eastland Creek Park units of Kachemak Bay State Park. The primary purpose of the request is to grant public access to DPOR lands. The proposed ILMA includes the construction of a parking lot with the capacity for up to 15 vehicles, and the development of a multi-use trailhead.
The authorization, if approved, may differ from that described herein.
REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite
DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: On or before December 19, 2024
The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.
