Subject to AS 35.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:
APPLICANT: Michael and Peggy Dempsey
PROJECT NAME: LAS 35294
GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 0.75 acres of State upland across from Lot 4 on Snoose Creek Road subdivision of Whale Pass. Approximately 56.1142 N, 133.1596 W.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Approximately 0.75 acres of State upland in the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 26, Township 66 South, Range 79 East, Copper River Meridian.
REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Michael and Peggy Dempsey (“the applicants”) are requesting a one-year Land Use Permit to use approximately 0.75 acres of state uplands for the purpose of year-around storage of up to 5 vehicles, boats, trailers, and heavy equipment on two gravel pads across from Lot 4 on the Snoose Creek Road subdivision.
There are improvements already on site including two gravel pads. The gravel pads will be removed from the site along with all vehicles, boats, trailers, and heavy equipment at the end of the permit.

Start: November 2024
End: October 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a discussion is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southeast Regional Land Office, 400 Willoughby Ave./PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
