Reschedule of Additional Public Meetings Scheduled for the
Public Review Draft of the Copper River Basin Area Plan Revisions
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources Division of Mining, Land and Water is hosting two additional Public Meetings for the Public Review Draft of the Copper River Basin Area Plan Revision.
Please take note the Glennallen meeting is now scheduled for the 31st of May at the Glennallen Community Center (formerly called the Murdock Center). Members of the public are invited to attend all meetings, even if they do not live in the community where the meeting is scheduled. Please join us and make your comments known.
The planning area encompasses nearly 16 million acres of land and water located within the Copper River Basin in the eastern portion of southcentral Alaska, and includes major drainages such as the Copper River, Gulkana, Klutina, Tazlina, and Chistochina rivers. The CRBAP will provide guidance for the development and conservation of the state’s natural resources, with goals to provide economic benefit to Alaskans while maintaining diversity of public uses of the land. This plan reflects current and anticipated changes to physical, economic, and social factors in the area.
